Doug Trapp

Born and raised in Nashville TN, my path to this crazy, wonderful acting world has been anything but traditional. Here goes: BA in Theater & Communications at Rhodes College, followed by a 2-yr degree in Art Direction & Advertising from The Portfolio Center in Atlanta. 10+ years working at top agencies in Minneapolis creating award-winning ads for clients like Target, 3M and Federal Express. Then, after riding a bike 450+ miles from Minneapolis to Chicago in the AIDS ride, a voice in my head said, "life is too short to not follow your dream." Which of course was to be on Broadway. Two years later, I quit advertising and became an actor in Minneapolis. It was like going back to kindergarten and loving every minute of your life. There were a lot of bumps of course, but that dream brought me my equity card, great roles in Minneapolis, my partner, and our move to New York in 2003. Off-Broadway, tons of regional theater, and now the great thrill of doing A LOT of TV and Film in this current golden age of Television makes me so glad I listened to that voice in my head.
